Safety first: how we keep RedLightAd adults-only
An 18+ gate for visitors, ID and face verification for advertisers, a confidential report form and zero tolerance for minors and trafficking. Plus practical safety tips for clients and advertisers.

RedLightAd is an advertising platform for adults, and only for adults. That is not a line in our terms that nobody reads. It shapes how the site works from the first second of a visit to the moment a profile goes live. Here is what we do, and what you can do to stay safe.
The 18+ gate
The first time you open RedLightAd, you have to confirm that you are 18 or older before you see any content. Until you do, the content stays behind the gate. Our pages are also labelled for adult content (RTA), so parental-control software and filters can block them on a child's device.
Every new advertiser verifies their ID
Since this week, every new advertiser verifies their identity before their profile goes live: a government ID scan, a live face scan matched to the ID, and a check of the date of birth. If the person is under 18, the profile is never published. Verified profiles show a Verified badge you can tap to see what was checked.
On top of that, new and edited listings are reviewed before publication.
Zero tolerance
Some things are never allowed on RedLightAd:
- anyone under 18, in any form,
- coercion, exploitation or human trafficking,
- illegal services,
- content that someone has not consented to.
Profiles that break these rules are removed. Say no to human trafficking. If something feels wrong, it probably is.
Report a profile
You do not need an account to report something. Use the Report button on any profile, or the report form on our Help & Contact page. Reports are confidential and can be anonymous, and safety reports are handled first. For urgent matters you can also email safety@redlightad.com.
If someone is in immediate danger, call the local emergency number first (112 across Europe, including all the Nordic countries). Our safety section lists the numbers for other countries.
Safety tips for clients
- Verify before meeting. A short video call is the easiest way to confirm who you are talking to. Look for the Verified badge.
- Never pay deposits to strangers. Requests for gift cards, crypto or advance payments are the most common scam.
- Respect boundaries. Always respect the other person's limits. No means no.
- Beware of links. Do not open unexpected links or share verification codes.
- Tell someone your plans. Let a trusted friend know where you are going.
Safety tips for advertisers
- Screen clients. Talk beforehand and trust your judgement about who you meet.
- Tell someone your plans. Let a trusted friend know where you are and when to expect you back.
- Meet in safe locations. Choose well-lit, public meeting points at first. For incall, make sure you have a safe exit.
- Use separate contact details. A work number and email keep your private life private.
Online safety, for everyone
Use a strong, unique password, and never reuse the one from your email. We will never ask for your password, not by email, chat or phone. Messages pretending to be RedLightAd can be reported to us straight away.
Safety is never finished. If you have an idea for how we can do better, tell us through the contact form.
